Two nights ago on January 12th, I was invited to The Next Big Small Brand event at Brooklyn Winery.
This event did not disappoint, especially from the food aspect. Delicious things from the final five contenders (Bombay’s Chutney, Sweet Loren’s, Brooklyn Cured, La Newyorkina, and Liddabit Sweets) with catered food from Radish of the contest made this worth going out in the frigid cold the day after the 6-inch snow storm. Besides the food, it was nice to be part of the voting process of picking the “People’s Choice” award (which Sweet Loren’s won).
Congratulations to Loren Brill of Sweet Loren’s for winning The Next Big Brand contest.
Many thanks to Liza de Guia, the sweet, brilliant storyteller and powerhouse behind Food Curated to invite me.

Vanille Patisserie’s French macarons from Chicago, Illinois. I’m going to write about them. Pretty, dainty little cookies.

The Eiffel Tower at night, taken on May 2010. My first night in Paris, France for vacation. Exhausted for several reasons but it was one of the most memorable days in my life.
